NCLSW is first and foremost a humanitarian organisation, putting humanity as the most important aspect of all. As such many dozens of victims of violence, specially women benefit from our free guidance and advice on a daily basis. Of these the majority come from down trodden rural communities where there is no one to lend a sympathetic ear to their grievances.
Although most of the beneficiaries have requested not to be named still some have gladly agreed to be quoted as an example:
- In the Years 2003 – 06 – Five Workshops were conducted to educate the general community, students from colleges and youth leaders about basic human rights issues. Venues included Flashmans Hotel and Grace Continental Hotel in Rawalpindi.
- In the Year 2004 – Fazal Mahmood from Village Dhalla District Rawalpindi was got released from Adiala Central Jail after payment of fines amounting to Rs. 8,000.
- In the Year 2004 – Shahida Bibi from Village Chappar District Rawalpindi was got released from Adiala Central Jail after payment of fines amounting to Rs. 11,000.
- Advocacy was provided to a victim of circumstances in Adiala Central Jail. Mr. Imran Abbas benefitted from the services and was released subsequently.
